Chopin Weekend

DAY 1 : WARSAW
Welcome at the airport by our guide. Arrival to the hotel. Visit to the Old Town: the Royal Castle, entirely rebuilt in the seventies, symbol of the city; Old Market Square; the Cathedral; the Barbican and city walls. Dinner and overnight at the hotel. Optional: Dinner at a typical restaurant with presentation of Polish folklore, which was a major source of inspiration for Frederic Chopin.

DAY 2: WARSAW
Guided tour of the city: Łazienki, the beautiful summer residence of the last king of Poland Stanislas August Poniatowski, surrounded by a park whith its famous monument to Fredric Chopin; The Royal Route, the university, where Chopin's father was teaching French; the Czapski Palace - today Academy of Fine Arts, where you can visit the meticulously reconstituted living room of the Chopin family; the Churches where Chopin used to play organ, including the Holy Cross Church, holding the urn with Chopin's Heart. Lunch. Free time in the late afternoon. In the evening visit to the Ostrogski Palace, home of the Frederic Chopin Society and the museum, holding many autographs, letters, souvenirs, portraits and other documents related to Chopin and his family. After the tour - recital of Chopin's works. Glass of champagne during the break. Dinner and overnight.

DAY 3: WARSAW
Excursion to Nieborów and visit to the splendid Baroque palace, which used to belong to the powerful Radziwiłł family, the protectors of Chopin's. Lunch and visit to the Żelazowa Wola manor, where Chopin was born on February the 22nd 1810. On the way back to Warsaw stop in Brochów, where in a beautiful Gothic church Chopin's parents got married and the young Frederic christened. Dinner and overnight.

DAY 4: WARSAW
Visit to the Wilanów Palace, the summer residence of king John the IIIrd Sobieski; one of Poland's most beautiful Baroque palaces, also called "Little Versailles". Lunch. Transfer to the airport.
